Miu's involvement does seem a bit unnecessary. I know it's that spooky thing they came up when they remade Fatal Frame 2 on the Wii and I guess it works there because you do the whole grabbing motion with the Wiimote, and grabbing items does seem suspensful, but after doing it a couple of times it's a bit tedious and rather annoying. If I could request one gameplay element to be removed in the future then it's the ghost hands. And I often said things like "oof" out loud when learning more about the lore or seeing some of the deaths (Kazuya for example. I often found myself walking slowly, standing still to just look at the things that were in front of me.

Seeing the trees after leaving the doll shrine for the first time etc. I don't mean creepy in the "yikes fanservice" way (there's definitely some fanservice in the game like one upskirt angle but otherwise there wasn't anythign that personally grossed me out or anything) but rather the whole mystery about the rituals, some of the memories you get where you see the deaths of the ghosts etc. Creepy is what I would describe the atmosphere and I think it works considering the story and everything.

Not because I feared dying (like in the PS2 games, which are like 10 times more difficult than Maiden of Black Water I've never used any of the more powerful films, only the infinite and blue one, for everything else I used the lenses), but rather because some of the imagery etc. It wasn't as scary as I hoped it would be, but it still had a very suspensful atmosphere. But it didn't stop me from enjoying the game. Sure, I would've preferred less backtracking and maybe an overall better pacing. The reasons for that were heavily discussed already.

Yes, a bit janky here and there, the pacing is a bit weird and of course the backtracking is the most the series has ever seen, especially in the second half of the game. I don't have much more to say about the game than what I already said in my previous posting.

Tsuki Amano is to Fatal Frame what Hikaru Utada is to Kingdom Hearts. Like seriously: All her songs for the Fatal Frame games are amazing. But Amano is the musical voice of Fatal Frame in my opinion. The lyrics do fit the bad ending though, so maybe that was their thinking. But perhaps they expected people to get Yuri's bad ending first? It's definitely possible. What a baffling decision, especially since they promoted her continious involvement quite heavily, even did a whole interview series about it in Famitsu where she talked about the song and the lyrics she wrote for the game. That's why I finally looked up what the "in this cage" ring does and looks like it was a direct response to the complaints by the fans that her song wasn't the ending song when getting Yuri's good ending. That being said: I was surprised that Tsuki Amano's song wasn't playing in the credits. It was a bit of a chore to run through the final drop four times for those (especially since only one character has more than two endings) but you can run past almost all encounters except for a few of them, so it's only an almost 30-minute long sprint per chapter playthrough. I finally beat the game and obtained all six endings.
